If you haven't been along yet to see Laura Lancaster's first solo exhibition, then I urge you to hurry down to the Laing art gallery this weekend to see her fantastic work. The Newcastle based artist, shows incredible use of watercolour in a ghostly monochromatic set of paintings. Her oil paintings were favourites of mine, evoking feelings of nostalgia and longing for the return of my childhood. The images are soft and blurred, yet potent, reaching far into my heart. Highly recommended.
